Mr. Harrington, Congratulations on being named "Player of the Year". Watching you play is a true pleasure. When I get frustrated during play I reflect on your outstanding attitude. It always helps to keep me focused. Thank you!

Well done Padraig you made us all proud this year. I hope you add the Master's and the US open to your major haul, and I think there is a good chance of that happening. I'd love to see you and a Mr. Woods going head to head, well done for winning Europe's top golfer, make next year another special one. Good luck and thanks for the joy you give us.

Hi Padraig, I wouldd like to let you know that I'm one of your biggest fans and a inspiration to all. I am 15 and working very hard on my game to get on tour and maybe one day win a major{or 3}just like yourself. So I wish you the best on your career and hopefully you will continue on winning majors and make Ireland even more proud.

Padraig, thanks for a great memories from the last 2 years (and all that went before). I have followed your career for the past 8 years or so; as an Irishman living in the States it can be frustrating when they show all the American players and little of you but I predicted 5 years ago you would win a major within 2 years - I was off by a couple but boy did you do it in style! All I want for Christmas is a.....green jacket?

As a proud Irishman living on foreign shores, you have given me some truly truly great times. Following u around Birkdale was magic, and the last few holes on Friday, were amazing, until I saw Sunday's finish! Played Birkdale in Sept and standing where you stood on the 17th, albeit without grandstands, there is only one conclusion, THAT WAS SOME SHOT! Ur mental strength is an inspiration. Keep her lit, and thanks for the memories!

I just started golfing a little over a year ago and caught your "Playing lessons with the Pros" on the golf channel. You are such a down to earth person and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. You are a phenomenal player and I enjoyed watching you clinch your second Claret jug. Golf needs more people like you, while they take the game seriously, have a great bit fun. It makes people like me want to keep playing. Thanks again for bringing what you do to golf and inspiring others. I will enjoy watching you win further majors. All the best, Corey

Well done Padraig! To be honest the writing has been on the wall for a few years now, so it doesn't come as a surprise to me that you are now a multiple Major winner. Your work ethic, dedication and focus are an inspiration.

Hi Padraig, I left Ireland 24 years ago for the states. I have watched your career over the years. I willed every putt in the hole and felt the pain when they slid by. My two young sons are now proud fans as well. Thank you for being the perfect role model for two young Irish Americans.

Hi Padraig, I watched the British Open, you did great in those conditions. I saw the wood you hit from well far and watched it trickle past the hole, that was the best shot I have seen, it must have felt great. I am a 20 h/c and it is rising I am going to practice over the winter and have a few more lessons so I can cream my woods like that.

Hi Padraig, I have followed you since your amateur days and always had the belief that you could be the best Irish golfer and after the last couple of years there is no doubt about that, I am very proud of what you have done, I think you should be number 2 in the world if not number 1, I sincerely hope that you win more majors as I think you have the best focus down the stretch. I wish your family all the best for 09.

Dear Padraig, On behalf of the children's charity Barretstown thank you for your generous donation of a signed pin flag for a charity auction we held recently. The flag fetched over £1000, a fantastic amount. As you may know, Barretstown exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer. The medical community worldwide recognises our programme as an important part of a child’s recovery process from cancer. However it’s the letters from our campers and their families which really show the impact a stay at Barretstown has on a child: “You have improved my hopes and dreams for the future and I know you’re doing the same for so many other children. Barretstown showed me to live life to the fullest, to always be happy and that we are all unique in our own way. I hope to come back as a volunteer one day and make kids smile like all you did for us!” Camper, aged 16. Based in County Kildare, Barretstown helps around 1,600 children and family members each year from Ireland and 21 European countries. To say that what happens at Barretstown is magic is no exaggeration and, because of your support, a little more of that magic will be possible. On behalf of all of us here at Barretstown, thank you. With very best wishes, Isobel Kirkus, Barretstown.
