Cormac BerginFeb 18, 2009 :Continued success for 2009, I have followed your career for a long time now & I knew from the time you made the crucial putt at the final qualifying tournament (Think it was the Omega masters in Switzerland) to qualify for the Ryder Cup in 1999 that you had the qualities of a major champion, since then you have rubber stamped your tallent & determination on the world sporting stage, you have made an entire nation very proud. Hopefully the new Irish talent on the block of Rory Mcelroy & Garreth Maybin can emmulate your sucess. Best of luck & I hope to see you more on the european tour this year, where the real challenge of golf exists. Cheers, Cormac Bergin |
Keely PorterFeb 17, 2009 : Tualatin, OregonI just heard a story from my friend Jim Pouliot that touched my heart--his wife, Mary, asked for your autograph on her Pebble Beach flag that she was going to give to her school auction and then your delivered an open flag the next morning! Amazing! What a generous gesture! My husband and I love Ireland--it is truly our favorite place on earth--and the people of the emerald isle are one of the main reasons we love to travel there. Kind, hospitable and generous with what they have to give; the Irish have an attitude that should be emulated a little more often by us Americans. I just wanted you to know how much this act of kindness touched another teacher (me) in the golfing world--thank you for making a difference for children and education! Best wishes for an amazing season in 2009! Keely Porter |

Tony DavisFeb 16, 2009 : Wodonga, Victoria, AustraliaCongratulations on not only your 3 fantastic major wins, but more importantly they way in which you conduct yourself both on and off the course. You are an outstanding example for young and old players alike. I have enjoyed watching the way in which you never give up but always manage to have a smile on your face - I know that can sometimes be very hard to do. Anyway, good on you mate and all the best for the future. Give Wilson no. 63!!! Kind regards Tony Davis, Australia. PS Would love to see you playing down here sometime in 2009. |

AndrewFeb 10, 2009 : San DiegoPadraig, Went to see you play in the Buick and followed you around the North course for 9 holes. You may or may not remember me - I was the one wearing the "Ireland baseball cap". There were not too many other Irish fans there but you had a great following. I now live here in the States, but follow you and all the other Irish players on T.V. each week. Keep us Irish proud - good look in all the "Majors" in '09 |
John MustainFeb 7, 2009 : Kenton, Ohio, USAPadraig, Congratulations on your Major victories, and for winning 2 majors in 2008. I've been a fan of yours for several years now. I like the fact that you play Wilson Staff clubs and am glad that you and Wilson were able to reach an agreement to extend your sponsor\endorsement relationship. I currently use a Wilson Staff putter and Wilson Staff ZIP balls and hope to be able to update my bag soon with a new set of Wilson Staff irons (once we get past this recession!). I enjoy watching you in tournament play and I very much appreciate your even temper and gentle manner while you play. I hope that you will be at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio this year, I'd love to follow your group for a round. Again, congratulations and may 2009 be another great year for you! |
Julian MitchellFeb 7, 2009 : Derbyshire, UKPadraig, I have nothing but admiration for your achievements in 2008, even though you beat my hero, Greg Norman. You are the only person I would have wished to win if not him. Have a great 2009, tell Bob Rotella, I'm reading his book because of you! Continued sucess, regards Julian |
Angie WishertFeb 7, 2009 : Waco, TexasHey Paddy, [that's what I call you] Ability may get one to winner's circle, but it takes character, hard work and some luck of the Irish to keep one there...my quote [so true] You are a amazing golfer, and I so enjoy watching you play. In some of your matches, I always find myself hollering at the television, "will the putt in Paddy!" You, usually do. Also, I think it would be awesome to have grown up in Ireland...I'm a huge fan of the "Quiet Man" movie too! Anyway, I watched you compete for as long as I remember...I'm an older female golfer! Best wishes to you this 2009 season (tough to top 2008)! You are the bomb! |
Camin CondrenFeb 7, 2009 : Scarriff, Co.ClareYou are an inspiration and well done. I hope you go on to achieve the grand slam. I hope some day to be a professional like you. |
Mark D. CarterFeb 7, 2009 : Greenville, Tennessee, USAI really enjoyed reading about your rise to great golf from your youth to present. I wish you a lot of victories, especially more Majors in the future. Good luck... Mark D. Carter |
Ciarán McGettiganFeb 5, 2009 : IrelandHi Paddy, Just a short note to wish you all the best in the Buick Invitational. You made a solid start to '09 season with your tied 5th at Abu Dhabi. I hope you take your own advice and don't over stretch yourself with all the commitments of being a double major champion. (it was bad enough when you had only 1 crown to cater to) I was pleased to hear the recent surgery went well and hope you and your family are happy with the results. I really appreciated the turn you did my little golf club in Westport last year on our 100th anniversary. I have been an avid fan of yours since your Walker Cup days and was amazed to watch you play as a young boy in Stackstown. I had a summer job there one year raking bunkers, cutting grass and doing whatever needed to be done. One of the other green keepers pointed you out one day, you must have been 10 or so, he said watch this guy, he's going to be big. Mind you he did say he thought your brother would be better.....haha. Good luck and do yourself proud. Longtime fan, Ciarán McGettigan |
David NewtonFeb 5, 2009 : MelbourneI have become a massive fan of yours in recent years after buying a set of Di7 irons and Dd6+ driver. Was glad to see you were a Wilson Staff man. Anyway good luck for the 2009 season and would love to see you out in Australia playing some of our tournaments one day. If not, look forward to seeing you defeat the US in the President's cup in 2011 in Melbourne. |
